MENGKUANG DAM

The History
Mengkuang Dam was officially opened by the (then) Yang Di Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang, TYT Tun Datuk Dr Haji Awang bin Hassan on December 14, 1985. The dam has a catchment area of 3.9sq km and a gross storage capacity of 23.6 billion litres ( almost 10times the capacity of the Air Itam Dam). Built between 1982 till 1984 and has a height of 24.7 meter.(Source: PBA)

We had successfully formed a special committee unit to run BM MTB CARNIVAL 2009 event on the behalf of LP MTB CLUB.
We have frequent meetings to ensure the event will run as smoothly as plan
Our committee members are highly motivated, full of dedication and committed to every important task that they handling.

Dear riders, we are proudly to anounce that we will be having BM MOUNTAINBIKE CARNIVAL 2009. After a painful experience last year and riders comments, we would like to assure you that this year, our trail will be more rideable and fun too. We would like you to know that we hear your pain and agony, and we really take a serious consideration and show our care too. We will start at the Mengkuang Dam and definately the route will be much more different than the last year. Therefore our special committees has decided to limit the rider's entry this year to 500 riders. So what are you waiting for ?
